Ask an Esthetician #2

“Why do I need special products for the eye area—can’t I just use my regular moisturizer?”

Great question. Even if you have normal skin, the skin around your eyes is especially thin, delicate, and sensitive. Topical eye treatments are formulated to be extra gentle, so they don’t cause irritation. In addition, the eye area has few (if any) oil-producing glands, so it requires intense hydration that my not be appropriate for the rest of your face. Our Renewing Eye Cream addresses a number of common concerns, including dryness, puffiness, dark circles and medium to deep wrinkles—Tracee G.

Employee Profile: Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic

Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic

Director, Murad Medical Group & Research and Education Center

What is something people do not know about you?
I write poetry and short stories in the Serbian language.

Most commonly asked skincare question?
Q:
All of a sudden my skin is just not looking as good as it used to. What can I do?

A: It’s never too early and never too late to start taking care of your skin! Efforts to maximize and maintain your skin health is an ongoing process. Daily use of skincare products designed to address your skin’s unique needs is the first step. Results can be enormously enhanced by establishing a healthy lifestyle (optimal nutrition, physical activity and other positive lifestyle habits). And, last but not least: emotional fulfillment is an important part of this puzzle called skin health and beauty.

Best skincare advice for patients:
Get to know your skin and address its peculiarities with special care. Your skin is a visible part of your uniqueness.

What do you think is the most common misconception about skincare products?
There are many myths and misconceptions about skincare products. Education is the most powerful protection against them. When buying a skincare product you should be able to recognize real benefits of it for your skin.

What is your passion?
Life is my passion. I embrace life with love, faith and gratitude.

What are your favorite Murad products and why?
My skincare regimen:

AM

Step 1: Essential C Cleanser, Hydrating Toner

Step 2: Essential C Daily Renewal complex, Essential C Eye Cream, Energizing Pomegranate Lip Protector

Step 3: Cellular Replenishing Serum, Essential C Day Moisture SPF 15

PM

Step 1: Renewing Cleansing Cream, Hydrating Toner

Step 2: Intensive Wrinkle Reducer, Renewing Eye Cream

Step 3: Perfecting Night Cream

What do you do to stay healthy?
Murad Inclusive Health formula really works for me: Topical Care (home skincare regimen and Murad professional treatments with my medical esthetician) + Internal Care (optimal nutrition and dietary supplements, swimming, hiking, proper sleep, etc.) + Emotional Care (relaxation, massages, spending quality time with people I care for, etc).
