“The Bachelor” Uses Murad!

So, that’s why all those ladies are swooning over Jason Mesnick—he has that Murad glow! Business Wire recently reported that Murad supplied the bachelor with the Murad Man regimen for the 13th season of the hit ABC show. From the looks of him, it works! And, in just a few days, we’ll find out who’ll be the next Ms. Bachelor. Whether it’s Molly or Melissa, I’m sure she’ll be gleaming with happiness. But, just in case she needs a little extra glow, there’s always Sheer Lustre.

You’re Getting Sleepy….

As many of you are now aware, we are in the midst of launching our latest and greatest product—Sleep Reform™. We’ve talked to the press, we’ve launched to our retail partners…and now it was time for the public to hear, straight from the Doctor’s mouth, how this product could help them. And boy, did we succeed! In a record breaking night, we had over 100 people at the Murad Inclusive Health Center® and Spa to hear Dr. Murad speak about Sleep Reform and answer everyone’s personal questions. Guests were also treated to mini massages, mini hand treatments and skin consultations. To top it off, all in attendance received awesome gift bags. And one lucky El Segundo resident won the raffle prize of a Murad Slumber Party Package which included a stay at the Shade Hotel, spa treatments, pajamas and Sleep Reform Serum and Supplements…all for her and three of her lucky friends. (I tried to make friends with her to get invited…I’m still waiting for my invitation so I guess that didn’t work. Better luck next time I guess!) After such an awesome night, I didn’t even need my Sleep Reform I was so tired (but I still used it ‘cause who doesn’t want to look younger, right??)

OH, if you are in the LA area, you can join us at The Murad Inclusive Health Center and Spa for our next new product launch this summer. Stay tuned for more info on that one, and if you’re planning to come and need a new “best friend”, I’m available.

Little Murad Man

I’m surrounded by family in a room at the end of a labyrinthine hallway at the maternity ward of St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica. I’m alternately taking photos, keeping the excited new four-year-old big sister occupied, and holding the brand new buzzing baby boy with the softest skin imaginable. My other niece and nephew are en route. My parents and sister, the new mom, are of course glowing. It’s great to be here for little Travis’ big day, although I must say there is a bit more free talk of colostrums and circumcisions than I feel totally comfortable with. I do love being an uncle. It’s the best part-time job in the world. Among the chaotic scenes of ransacked purses, milk-drenched clothing, and not-too-subtle reminders that I’m “next,” I realize how happy I am for my parents – especially my dad who is a natural-born grandpa – that both of my big sisters are so “fruitable” as my Swedish girlfriend would say. I don’t think I’m ready to make this a full time gig quite yet.

Has Science Found the Fountain of Youth?

You can’t pick up a magazine, see an advertisement on TV or go on the Internet without hearing the word Peptides in regards to skin aging.

So just what are these little miracle workers?  First and foremost there are 20 Amino Acids in the body (much like 24 letters in the alphabet). Each amino acid has a unique function and when 2 or more of these amino acids are linked together they become a Peptide (much like taking the letters of the alphabet to form a word). As more and more peptides link together they form polypeptides (proteins). Think of taking letters, making words and then creating a sentence. Amino Acids – Peptides – Polypeptides.

Science has made great strides in understanding how the human body works through on-going research such as the Human Genome Project. As this world is unraveled and revealed, so are new ways of developing treatments to fight against diseases such as cancer.

The pharmaceutical industry has been working with this exploding science resulting in peptides that are bio-engineered and designed to target specific needs or objectives . A peptide that most people are familiar with is Botox™. This is a neurotransmitting peptide that controls communication between the neurons and muscle resulting in a relaxing effect on the lines and wrinkles of certain areas of the face for a period of time.

Murad products utilize key peptides in the fight against aging as well. But even more exciting is Murad’s Immuno-Skin Complex, a combination of anti-aging ingredients that are formulated with a very specific peptide that helps the skin’s immune response. As we age your skin’s loses its full capacity to fight against environmental aggressors, resulting in skin aging. There are lists of peptides available on the market and all have specific benefits. You will see this continue to go over the next several years.

So, has science found the Fountain of Youth?  Well, it certainly is a step in the right direction. Stay tuned.
