“I’m a relatively new customer (probably about 2 months, give or take a week). I have never before written a letter like this, but here goes! The New York Daily News reported on new research that finds genes play an integral part in skin aging. The research found 1,500 different genes that control how our skin ages. However, data also points out lifestyle is an important factor in skin aging as well as the formation of free radicals. Scientists suggest adding foods high in antioxidants to our diets in order to fight free radicals such as pomegranate, acai and blueberries.

Such research confirms the principles Murad is founded on. Dr. Murad stresses the importance of external and internal skincare. The combination of topical skincare products and a healthy diet including supplements results in younger-looking skin. How long have you worked for Murad and what do you do?
I am celebrating my second year with Murad July 12th, 2009 and I am a Certified Skincare Specialist.

What Murad products can you not live without?
I can never ever live without my Murad Refreshing Cleanser, it feels so good on my skin, smells great and leaves it squeaky clean! Also, I cannot walk out the door in the morning without applying my Murad Renewing Eye Cream, takes the puffiness around my eye area away instantly. Honestly I cannot live without any of my Murad products!

What is your favorite thing about Los Angeles?
The beaches and the great weather all year long.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Houston’s! My supervisor took me there when I first started at Murad and I fell in love with it. They are known for their steak but they have fantastic sushi.

What is your most marked characteristic?
My smile.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Johnny Depp, he’s quirky and I like that!

What is your worst fashion faux pas?
When I was 18 my mother made me wear a suit made of different flags from all over the world.

What is the last movie you saw or the last book you read?
The last book I read was He’s just not that into you. Pretty accurate book I must say

What is your favorite day of the week?
Friday because it’s the start of the weekend!

What do you enjoy doing the most?
Taking my dog Miko to the dog beach where he can roam free and go swimming.

What is your idea of a dream vacation?
Somewhere on a beach with white sand, blue waters, a nice breeze and some good company!

What do you want to come back as in your next life?
A spoiled rotten cat, I can lay around all day sleeping, have someone feed me and pick up after me. Oh and of course, stare out a window and purr.

Live each day as if it was your last.

It’s Tuesday. 10 am. You’re boss says, “Take the rest of the day off.” What would you do?
Go to the spa and get a facial and a massage and then head to one of my friends houses and probably go shopping! Gee sure would be nice if my boss did do that haha!

There are many companies that I have worked for in the past and what makes Murad stand out more than the others I have worked for in the past, is that this company is truly like a family. We all support each other, love each other and provide a real sense of team work . Can Green Tea Prevent Skin Cancer?

Scientists from University Hospitals Case Medical Centre believe green tea can reduce the damaging effects of UV rays. Their findings were published in Experimental Dermatology. A spray comprised of polyphenols extracted from green tea, water and other chemicals was used on the skin of ten volunteers. The skin was then exposed to ultraviolet light. The results indicate the skin sprayed with the green tea extract boosts the skin’s immune system and resisted damage to cells.

Before you brew gallons of green tea and slather your skin with it, more research needs to be done on whether green tea can protect against skin cancer. Until then, be sure to wear sunscreen everyday and reapply frequently.
