At Home Facial Tips and How-To

While it would be nice if we could all go to the spa every week, for many of us that isn’t an option. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get the same benefits of a spa facial by creating your own at-home facial using a face mask, some basic “treat yourself well” items you pick up at the local grocery story and the peace and quiet of your own home. Here’s how!

Select a Soothing Facial Mask
Of course, the starting point to any good at-home spa facial is to select

Indulge in a new robe (you can use it again the next time you do an at-home facial night), a relaxing CD (or music download), some fresh flowers and some soothing candles. Turn your living room into a temporary spa. You’d be surprised what some mood lightening and flowers can do!

Spas Are About Nutrition, Too
You don’t just want to use this opportunity to nourish your skin from the outside with a face mask, it’s also about nourishing from the inside. Cut some delicious fresh fruit and make yourself some green tea—it’s full of healthy antioxidants! Also, enjoy some spa-style water with a slice of lemon or cucumber in it.

Just because you can’t get to the spa, it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a great at-home spa facial. Just remember, the experience is meant to be about relaxation and calming yourself as much as it is about creating glowing, beautiful skin. Don’t focus on one half and not the other!
